Learning to fly fixed wing vs rotary wing

It’s not the same. What do you believe to be the chief differences?

My story- I’m learning to fly a gyro first. I hear it’s a bit more difficult to learn than a standard fixed wing ultralight.

Observation: taxiing is trickier with a gyro!

Ive flown a few things over the years, gliders, small aircraft - only as a passenger that took the controls for a minute or two.

So when learning to fly a gyrocopter I was quite surprised to learn (very quickly) that its a very different game, taking off much more challenging, the way it responds to power inputs and outputs.

The whole experience is different... but for me that's exactly what makes it so awesome.
